So when I was first conceptualizing this comic years ago, Eve was Erik's love interest. Then somehow she got demoted/promoted to just being his best friend.

I think it was when I started work on Eve’s character. Dimensions and depth got added and suddenly she and Erik became fundamentally incompatible as romantic partners.

But not as friends. Which I don't see often.
